The room is VERY nice! Hard surface floors, a good bed (although QUITE HIGH...I am quite short and could have used a step stool!), and comfortable side chair. Lesser quality night stands and side table, but a really nice refrigerator. Seems to have recently been completely remodeled. There was a microwave, but did not try it. Staff is equally nice...they carried my suitcase and coolers upstairs for me. I had requested a first floor room, but was not accommodated. I asked for extra pillows and they were provided immediately. There is no elevator! Free parking...something difficult to find anywhere near San Diego. Well-lit parking area after dark, and plenty of security cameras. The neighborhood seems a little dicey...one never knows what one is going to get near San Diego. Only stayed one night and had no problems of any kind.

I am very impressed, with what would be a low end hotel,(not in a good manner), with what I have enjoyed here. They have put in many nice lighting features, one, touch integrated with very large vanity mirror, wall lights with nice tones and bedding with comphy top fluffy blanket. Massive wall mounted flat screen, (haven’t checked how good channels are yet,,). My room’s “statement” wall hung picture is of a huge leopard. Bathroom and vanity soap is dispenser type with nice flavors named “PAYA”. All these well done details within a spotless clean room. Thank you to the Indian family of this establishment that has put in such a great effort and succeeded with an area that doesn’t beget fancy. They have certainly added value to their community. If having to land at Gillespie Airfield again to be grounded because of weather, I shall be back here for certain! Fond regards, >> N94AS

The room was amazing!! Wooden floors and spacious. It’s a quiet little area but overall my husband and I enjoyed our stay. Also super affordable!!! Definitely recommend checking them out and I’ll definitely be coming back!!

First time visitor of Hotel Serena and I am beyond pleased with my stay here. The room was sparkling clean, modern, equipped with a full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and flat screen TV. After checking out with the owners of the property, it is apparent the effort, care, and attention to detail that they bring to this property. I will absolutely be staying here again and look forward to it. It is a bit hidden in the El Cajon area, right off of West Main St., but I have no doubt this establishment will be getting more publicity during heavy travel seasons. Thank you to the owners and staff here, I appreciate y'all. 👍

Spur of the moment lil trip out of town to see a friend. Didn’t think I woulf need the room 2 days but I wish I had booked it longer! Great service at the desk, easy to check in, and the room was perfect. Clean, inviting and comfortable. Great night sleep. I will definitely be back!!

Nice clean quiet hotel and cheap. they take card and cash. 711 is down the street if you want snacks or something to drink. The showers are warm, soaps are provided as well as lotion. the tv works smoothly and have a lot of available channels to watch. AC works great. Nice size Refrigerator is available . The parking is secure. Sam at the front desk was friendly and professional. I enjoyed my stay here at hotel villa Serena

Room was clean, but the $75 deposit charge was not credited right away , like I was told before ,to be gotten back at check out. People were friendly.

A boutique hotel with 5star hotel service and accommodations. They were so kind and loving. I will definitely be coming back whenever I need a budget friendly quality experience💛
